Student Testing ProgramsSchools Testing ProgramSince 1997 free testing days for Tay Sachs Disease have been offered to year 11 students at all Jewish day schools. From 2008 we are offering free testing to year 11 students for Tay Sachs disease and for the other common genetic diseases that affect Ashkenazi Jewish people. If you are in year 11 in Victoria and do not attend a Jewish day school and wish to have free testing please call Genetic Health Services Victoria on (03) 8341 6201 to arrange to have this done. Free testing to school students is possible
thanks to the generosity of the Pratt Foundation. University Testing ProgramTay Sachs disease and related conditions genetic screening days are offered at Melbourne University and Monash University annually. Testing is free for university students on presentation of their student ID card. Further details can be obtained from AUJS or you can call Genetic Health Services Victoria on 8341 6201. University students from other universities are welcome to attend the screening days at either Melbourne University or Monash University. Free testing to university students is possible thanks to the generosity of the Pratt Foundation. |
